Twitter is joining the online video hosting crowd platform with YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook. They have launched their own built-in video player that lets you upload 10 minutes of high quality video. The service supports MP4 and MOV video files and allows uploaders to choose a thumbnail that will appear in tweets, either a still from the video itself or a separate image (JPG or PNG).
Unfortunately, the new Twitter video is a native-only service and will not accept videos from other platforms, such as YouTube. And for now only certified Twitter Partners have been given access to the tool (it's available at video.twitter.com).
PS: Looks like we've got another time-constrained video length in the online video mix - can't wait to see what brands will be creating in 10 minutes! :-)
