Ep0155: Your Mac's Magic Alt Key

If you’re a Mac user then you should know there’s a ton of great functionality buried in the alt/option key. Following are a few of the most useful examples:

  • alt-click the notifications icon in the menubar to mute it for a day
  • alt-click the speaker icon you can set inputs & outputs instead of volume level
  • alt-drag something to create a duplicate copy of it
  • use the alt key to get accents and special characters with your keyboard
  • press alt to reveal different options in your application and system menus
