You may have heard of legislation in Europe supporting the right to be forgotten - basically a process whereby Google must remove an individual from search results - for example if someone is accused of a crime and then found not-guilty, it's a bit unfair for every future search of their name to make them look like a criminal. A French court has just rejected an appeal by Google to continue restricting this law to country-specific domains, so any links through Google.com would now also need to come down. It's too early to tell how Google will handle the new ruling, but projected fines are steep, up to €300,000 per offence. - Lara Killian
